Why personalize your workspace?

Why personalize your workspace?

Is there a single person out there who wants to work in an impersonal, claustrophobic office cubicle that’s hard to get to without a map because of the sea of identical workstations? We confidently put forward the thesis that this is unlikely. These conditions are far from being conducive to productivity, efficiency, creativity, or health. Tailor the office to the employees’ needs to ensure both the quality of work and their long term wellbeing remain high. That's why here at Oakywood, we keep developing our 3D configurator – a tool that makes it super easy to personalize your workspace.

How does office design affect the quality of work?

It’s no secret that the space we spend time in every day significantly impacts our health and well-being. When decorating a house or apartment, we tend to choose items amongst which we feel comfortable and uplifted, making an effort to harmonize our sense of aesthetics with utilitarian needs. Think of approaching the workspace arrangements in the same way.

Your office’s design and furnishings translate into engagement, productivity and efficiency, but also job satisfaction, greater loyalty to the company, and lower employee turnover. Besides, an ergonomic office is a healthy choice as it prevents various ailments associated with a sedentary work style. This, in turn, can help reduce sick leave employee absenteeism rates.

A well-designed interior has an impact on the psyche: access to natural light, plants, furniture tailored to the user, complimentary color schemes, and decor that matches your individual aesthetics all affect mood and well-being. Because we are humans and not robots, our mental condition plays a very important role at work, often determining our level of creativity, problem-solving skills or willingness to grow.

You are more likely to design an office that suits your needs if you work remotely – even in a small apartment. That's why investing in personalized solutions can help you work more efficiently and ergonomically.

Personalize your space with Oakywood's configurator

Designing all furniture and accessories from scratch is quite time-consuming; besides, it requires some experience and a specific set of skills. Taking advantage of product configurability is a much simpler way to create the perfect workspace. And this is where our 3D configurator enters the scene.

When it comes to furnishings, many people think one size fits all. However, at Oakywood, we adhere to the principle that everyone should have furniture created to fit their specific needs. That's why we designed a configurator that allows users to customize every detail of the product.

This intuitive tool allows users to quickly and easily customize the parameters of selected products – it takes only a few clicks to create the desk and accessories of your dreams. In addition to classic and standing desks, you can now customize desk shelves, felt & cork desk mats, floating shelves and wooden tabletops.

What can you customize in the configurator?

  • height of the classic desk (new!)
  • dimensions of the desk tops, desk shelf and floating shelf (with an accuracy of 1 cm)
  • type and color of wood
  • color of steel elements: legs of standing desks and desk shelf
  • shape of edges and corners of wooden tops
  • addition of cable grommets in desks
  • addition of casters for standing desks
  • addition of modular drawers to the desk shelf

We are constantly working on developing and improving our configurator as we aim to make as many of our products as possible to be easily customizable. Following up on our previous article – on minimaluxe and redefining luxury – personalization and the ability to customize a home office is exactly what we consider synonymous with modern luxury.
